Merging Collections

You can merge results from multiple collections into a new list using Advanced Search:

For example, in a company search, start by selecting Add company criteria -> Collections, found within the basic details section.

You will then be able to select the collections you’d like to combine from the drop down list.

By default, this option is set to any, allowing you to merge multiple Collections together, but you can also specify that results must be included in all of the Collections selected.

Finally, click Search to return the desired list of results.

This updated list can then be saved to a new collection using the Add to Collection button in the bottom right (giving you the option to set up alerts, keep the search live, and share the results with colleagues!), or a useful template can be made for future purposes using the Save search button in the top right:

Using Existing Collections as a starting point for a new search

In the same way as before, choosing the criteria "collections" allows you to start a search by saying 'show me results that are already in this/these collections'.

From here, you can add on further criteria to narrow down further.

The example below shows how you can find which companies from the collection "Fintech Example" have an Innovation Signal applied to them.

(Note that this will not affect the existing collection 'Fintech Example')

Excluding a collection's results from a new search

Like before, using the criteria 'Collections', you can load in a collection or numerous collections, and specify that you want to exclude results already in these collections from the results of the search.

To do so, change the white box prior to the collections you loaded in to read "none", and now these collections' results will not appear in your search, avoiding duplication.
